My Word of the Year for 2021 #WOTY
What is Word of the Year?
At the start of a new year, you choose a word you could use to set goals or a word to represent how you would like the year to pan out for you. Put it down in the form of a blog post, or write it down where you could refer to it if needed.
Word of the Year is a tradition I first started on my Blog in 2017 and made a hat trick of it.
My Word for 2017 was Begin
The Word I chose for 2018 was Surprise
Pause was my Word for 2019
Believe it or not, I forgot all about doing a post for 2020! However, here I am with my Word of the Year – for 2021.
The year 2020 was like a classroom for all of us, as it left us with lessons we will most probably carry for life. Some found the lessons tough, while others realized that these lessons were exactly what they need to move up a grade. Yet others chose to flunk, holding on to past lessons that were redundant.
Me? 2020 was personally a tough nut to crack but hey, challenges are more fun when they are tough ( even if you fret and fume and probably swear all the way through, yeah!)
Tough challenges leave you with a lot of learning. Learning which you add to the accumulated lessons of earlier times. As 2020 neared its end I found myself wondering what am I going to do with all the wisdom I have accumulated? Will I just keep storing it as reminders of the lessons or will I, finally, use it to make my paths in the future easier?
I decided to choose the latter. This is why my Word of the Year for 2021 is
GO!
Armed with lessons. Rich with learning. Wise with experience, I chose 2021 to be the first step down a brand new path.
So yes, Go, will be my Word of the Year for 2021.
When I choose to be my own cheerleader, the enthusiasm rarely flags!
Wishing you’ll a wonderful 2021! May it turn out to be even better than you expect it to!
What word will you choose as yours for 2021?
2020 has certainly been a year of learnings. ‘Go’ is a super word.
I have chosen ‘progress’ as my word of the year for 2021.
That’s a beautiful picture. I like ‘go.’ We’ve all been at one place literally and also mentally in some aspect of life or the other. Time to move forward 🙂
