In India, beautiful attire is associated with any festival that we celebrate. Karwa Chauth is a festival celebrated by married Indian women, mainly in the Northern state of the country, seeking blessings for the long life of their husbands. The main ritual of that day is fasting throughout the day and gathering in a group, dressed up in all their finery to pray for their husband’s well being. Wearing gorgeous clothes is an important part of this celebration. Comfort and looking good go hand in hand on any festive occasion and Karwa Chauth is no different.

The Outfit of choice for women on this day is;

The Saree

Red is a colour synonymous with Karwa Chauth. A red and gold combination is always a hit. You can wear a red plain print, bordered with red and gold, adding shine to the plain red. Team it up with an attractive blouse. To really impress, wear your red matched with a color that stresses on the red. Contrast it with a blue or green maybe as a border or on the pallu and wear a blouse in the contrast color. All eyes are sure to be on you. There is no binding that your Karwa Chauth saree should have to be in red. You can choose any color that does not break the norm, but makes you look different from everybody else. You also have a choice of the material. You can try out a georgette saree because of its flattering fall, or you can pick a red Banarasi silk saree if you are keen on something heavy. If you are the kind who wants to look really simple, then go for a chiffon saree. You can keep your color choice of red.  On a day when you are fasting, comfort should be a priority.

Lehengas, Anarkalis,and Shararas

If you want to try something different this  Karwa Chauth dresses, wearing a lehenga would be ideal. A light lehenga is definitely easier to carry on a day of strict fasting. Since you have to survive the day without food and water, a light designer lehenga is a perfect choice. If you want to wear something heavy then choose a brocade lehenga choli with intricate detailing work. There is no denying the fact that a lehenga is a beautiful outfit which all women love to wear.  This outfit leaves a lasting impression on the onlookers. Heavy clothes and jewelry can stress your body. Wear a lehenga and team it up with light jewelry and a simple hairdo to make a mark yet feel comfortable.

Layered Anarkali suits are a good idea too. They come in basic two layers or even more. Get it designed to suit your height. Get the right distances between layers to show off your height and avoid distances if you are too skinny. Anarkali Salwar suits are traditionally popular among ethnic wear. A three-piece Anarkali suit, which is supposedly inspired by Anarkali the lover of Salim in the Mughal era is comfortable, timeless and popular. They are now designed in a variety with a    number of new slits, patterns, and designs. If you want to keep it simple, choose one with a broad flare to perfect your look. Go modern with off-shoulder neckline and cold shoulder sleeves. Modern women are in love with these little fashion hacks which not only make them look glamorous but allow modernity in ethnicity. Another smart addition to your ward would be Sharara suits, especially if you are not comfortable wearing a lehenga or a saree. You can emphasize this look with ethnic jhumki or chandbalis.

Pakistani Suits

Ever since the advent of Pakistani serials, actors and actresses, the craze for Pakistani suits has reached a peak.  Grab designer Pakistani suits this Karwa Chauth to look different. They are light yet come in brilliant colors in beautiful designs or patterns all over them. Chikan work or thread work gives you a chance to show off the tradition of the regions beyond the borders.  You are certainly are going to be an eye catcher and enjoy that look of admiration in the eyes of that one person you value the most.

Go Modern

You can also choose to wear something beyond the traditional. You can choose from among jacket salwar suits. You can shop for embellished worked suits and wear them with golden high pumps to showcase your best look.  Since the time modernity has crept into Karva Chauth, women are also trying lehenga sarees on this occasion. Designers are creating these in colours that are suited to the occasion.

You can wear them with embellished or studded sandals, catchy earrings, and choker necklaces to show off your beauty. Gowns with traditional Indian motifs on them are also a popular choice for the modern young woman.  If you happen to be a modern bahu then this could be your choice. You will find a variety of styles in them with embroidery around the borders or embellished work in the neckline.  Wear them with steep stilettos and matching earrings and chokers for a gorgeous look. Go further in your looks with printed dhoti style bottom with a high-low hemline top. This boasts of a contemporary dressy look with a comfort-fit.

With so many kinds of dresses for the gorgeous woman in you go shopping with confidence for this upcoming festival. If you want to avoid crowds go online and you will be spoilt for choice.

Look gorgeous as you enjoy this day full of sacrifice, love, and concern for the person who is closest to you.

    These are all lovely ideas for women to look gorgeous on karwachauth. These days people dress up in suits and lehangas too but I am a big fan of sarees myself and this one day, in particular, I prefer a saree.
