I think there is hardly anyone who hasn’t at least heard of ‘Candy Crush’, if not played it. This Online Game took the world by storm and got almost everyone to bow down their head before it as they crushed virtual candies on their mobile phones. I remember the frenzy of reaching higher levels, waiting to get a life and more candy, and how all these bound strangers together as they compared scores and levels.
If you haven’t guessed already, I love playing Online Games. They are my much-needed break on a hectic day, my saviors when I want to avoid people, and my companions when I am in waiting rooms or queues. I have a couple of favorites saved on my phone that I play regularly, aka, every day.

A few weeks ago, my old favorite online game, ‘Tetris’ came to mind. I remembered how obsessed I had got with playing it, on a special handheld device, the Gameboy, I was gifted by my Uncle. As much as I enjoyed playing Tetris, doing so was also a lesson in patience. I knew I had no choice but to wait for the right brick to come along to form a row. Playing Tetris was a learning curve for me, as it not only taught me that patience pays but also taught me that things can change in a fraction of a second, for the better or for worse, it depends on that split-second choice you make.
This thought of Tetris made me all nostalgic for it and I began to look for it online. I located various sites and apps that had it, but I found myself leaning towards a particular site for browser-based Online Games, called plays.org . The layout and format of this app are very different, I think of it as retro, due to the subtle colors and clean layout. Of course, I located and played Tetra Block, a variant of Tetris, immediately!
As I played it I got curious to find out if I would find any other Online games that I missed and began my search. Sure enough, I found PacRat, a variant of PacMan, which was all the rage way back then.

Online Games are more than just entertainment for me. Playing them calms me down, which is why they are instant stressbusters. They are also a form of entertainment and learning. Playing Online Games also brings out my introspective side, they make me think of the next step and of course the big picture. Along with my introspective side, my competitive side comes to the fore too. When I first started playing Online games I was surprised to realize how eager I was to better my previous score, and worked towards doing so strategically.
Powerpuff Girls Unordinary Week was another game I discovered on plays.org. Playing this vibrant-looking game gives me an adrenalin rush as it requires the player to defend and to do so requires me to learn their pattern by observing it. I did mention didn’t I, that playing online games was a learning curve.
The reason I am so hooked to plays.org is that there are no annoying popups or ads and nor do I have to download anything. And I get to play all the games I like, discover new ones that are added, and enjoy myself while I do so. The best thing of all, its free!
Are you a fan of Online Games? Which ones are your favorites, do share in the comments.

I have not played online games really because it becomes more of an addiction. I play games on my mom’s mobile who has them and i enjoy playing it once a while but yes it definitely gives a break
I couldn’t have found better defence of online games. My children are only to read your post Mayuri and you can guess well how my explanations will be shot down.
I am not a fan of online or digital games. No, I haven’t played any and have no idea. But they have a great fan base at my home and I am in minority there. Your post, however, gives me a different perspective of digital games.
I am not an online gamer n haven’t played anything much… not even candy crush. These days I play wordle and quordle though… if they count. But it’s amazing that there is a site like that that doesn’t have too many ads and has old games revamped as well. I will refer this site to the people I know who play.
I never played online games. My brother plays a lot though, i just a company him
I use to love candy crush, long before I got to know, I was totally addicted. After some time when I realized that I couldn’t stop playing this game, I deleted the app.
I guess it’s my age that I do not like online games. But I do scrabble a lot and that too for 15 years now. I do not know if Tetris is the same but we used to have a brick game years ago. That was handheld and we used to take it into the washroom to play for a longer time as my husband and son too played. My grandson has a shift and he got his mom hooked on it now. He asks me to play but its not just my cup of tea.
I remember Tetris and Pacman. My kids used to play it a lot and I played it too sometimes. They can be very addictive.
I used to love playing Tetris. That was such a long time ago. These days I am more into Word Stack and Elevate. And Wordle, of course.
Even I do this. Playing online games is my reprieve fr work or specially when I wan to avoid certain people. I play angry birds or 2408 or wordle or Mario or any game which catches my eye. Am glad to read your post there is someone like me out there.
I used to play online games until 2020 but left because it became an addiction. Now a days I just read a lot.
Thank you! I’ve genuinely bookmarked this page so I can refer to it when I get the time to play – I love online gaming. unfortunately work doesn’t permit a lot of time but I’ve been on the lookout for new fun games. I’ve played it all too – Tetris to Pac Man to Road Rash, more lately, word games on my mobile. Super excited to resume gaming with plays.org
I remember playing Pacman on desktop when I was in school but not really into online games. Though in my family all of them play and have their favorites too but blogging gives me enough screen time and don’t prefer adding more to it.
Although I don’t play online games much now I remember being madly addicted to Tetris during my college days. Can explore this site for my kids for some good word games.
Ah. Candy Crush, Farmville, came much later, I remember stealing my dad’s Nokia and played SNAKE till the battery died or my patience. It’s totally addicting and discomforting especially on the mobile. If a game has a desktop version, I would try it, not otherwise.
Oh yes, Play.org has some fun games. They have some really good educational games for kids too and that’s what I like the most.
Gone are the days i sat down for online games. But i really see a lot of people mentioning it helps relieve stress. But the fact that plays. ORg doesn’t have pop ups interests me much
I loved Tetris too! Now I avoid playing too many games as I spend a lot of time on the screen as it is. Loved Candy Crush too….but it got very addictive. Now I mainly play Solitare, Scrabble and Onnect, incase I do.
I play a ton of games mobile, xbox and PC. I love gaming and there are some great titles out there. My fav mobile game at the moment is Project Makeover and PC-wise I finished a very Da Vinci code-esque game called Hand of Glory today
I haven’t played any online game yet and for that matter, I had played any Mobile or computer game long long ago, may more than a Decade, which was solitaire and chess. But, all the 3 boys in our house loved to play online games.
I am not more of a game person. I use to play when I was in school. Yahoo games to be honest. I came across some amazing games at that time. reading this post made me feel like going to them again
Agree, online games are instant stress buster. I loved candy crush. Nowadays not getting much time to play any online game.
