A Morning with Paint and Klay

Posted on 8 July 20198 July 2019 By Mayuri Sharrma

Chennai Mom Tribe is a group formed and run by 3 enterprising young Mothers. Apart from being Social Media Influencers and Bloggers, this Terrific Tri are full time professionals too.

Dr Arulmozhi Nandakumar is a Dentist by profession

Dimple Surana is a Businesswoman

Shruti Ravindran is a Wedding Planner

I attended their debut meet in May this year. I registered to show my solidarity as a fellow Blogger and honestly planned to just make a mandatory appearance, before I slipped away. Because, what would I do at ‘Mom Tribe’ meet, I asked myself. I am not a Mom!

The meet and greet at a cozy restaurant was so much fun and I met so many wonderful new faces that I was one of the last ones to leave!

Since their first meet in May the Terrific Trio of Chennai Mom Tribe have grown from strength to strength.

The 2nd meet in June saw us gathering at a gorgeous Cafe and had various experts come in to enlighten us with their knowledge. Gynaecological health, ‘Chair Yoga’, a Make-up Demo with trips and tricks for everyday makeup, were discussed.

Needless to say I am hooked to the Chennai Mom Tribe Meets. As we finish one monthly event I start guessing what theme and venue would they come up for the next one.

And they never disappoint!

I scored a hat-trick by attending my 3rd Chennai Mom’s Tribe Meet on the 6th of July where the theme was Paint Party. The venue was Klay Preschool and Day Care, Anna Nagar.

The colourful venue of Klay matched the theme of the paint party perfectly. While waiting for the other attendees to arrive I wandered around premises, fascinated by the thought put into each thing. I saw miniatures of a Basin, An Oven/Gas Stove and Iron Board and more, to teach children how to use them.

The child sized chairs and tables with rounded corners looked very comfortable.

A shelf lined with picture books, and nooks for the child to snuggle into with one.

Even the safety gates at the end of the stair cases looked so aesthetically pleasing, as they were made to look like a Picket Fence.

We were there for the Paint Party, remember?

As the Mom’s unleashed their creative side with Artist Pragati Gunasekar guiding our brushes right, the kids played with each other and toys, ably supervised by the staff at Klay.

Yes, the Chennai Mom Tribe ensure that the Kids are taken care of too along with the Mom’s.

Three hours went by without us realising how! Thankfully each of us had the painting we made, to show for it! Thank you Pragati, your easy instructions and loads of help made artists out of all of us.

A Saturday morning truly well spent, with Paint and Klay! We left with big smiles on our faces and a Goodie Bag each.Psstttt…yes we get one at the end of each meet!

Now, I am looking forward to finding what the theme and venue for the August meet would be.

If you are a Chennai Mom, contact Chennai Mom Tribe on their Instagram handle here and join us for the next meet.

Yes, I will be there. Will you?
