I have Combination Skin. Which means my ‘T-Zone’ the area across my forehead, above my eyebrows, and vertically down from my forehead to my chin, shaped like a ‘T’ is Oily, while the rest of my face, the cheeks and jaws are dry. If this wasn’t enough, my skin is extremely sensitive as well, which means it breaks out the moment any new product I use does not suit my skin.
This is the reason I need to be doubly careful when I buy Beauty Products, as I never know how my skin would react to them.
The last few years have been a series of trails and many errors. I have used many Beauty products in the quest to find those that would suit my skin and help it, rather than irritate it.
I have finally found products my skin loves and suit my Combination and Sensitive skin. Needless to say these have become my constants.
NATIO Womens Oil Free Moisturiser:
Moisturising your skin should ideally be a daily habit, like brushing your teeth. I realised the benefit of it only lately. With combination and sensitive skin, the struggle to find the right moisturiser began, till I came across Natio.
Cream or Oil based/ Creamy Moisturisers are a big no-no for my skin type and this water based Oil free moisturiser from Natio worked for me at the first application. My skin absorbs it immediately on application without any trace of ‘shine’. It hydrates my skin and I notice a smoothness and softness to it with regular use, and no break outs!
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Lipstick and Kajal are the only make up I wear on a regular basis. Of course special occasions see me going all out. I am fastidious about taking every bit of it off as soon as I get home, as it is a known fact that leaving make up on is the worst thing you could do to your skin. This squat and pretty hued jar holding a balm by Clinique is what I call my magic potion. The balm transforms into a smooth Oil on application. I had thought that being a balm it would be greasy but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t. The Balm moisturises as it cleanses, which is great for sensitive areas like the eyes and lips.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum
We are particular about taking care of our skin during the day and conveniently forget to do so at night. A daily night routine of cleansing, washing and moisturising my skin before I go to bed is becoming a habit now. A habit I see the benefits of. As I said earlier I am not too fond of heavy creams of moisturisers which is why a Serum works for me. The Advanced Night Repair Serum by Estee Lauder has fit the bill perfectly. It is lightweight and easy to absorb. A few drops is all it takes, and a gentle massage to spread them across and let your skin absorb it, and you’re done. It smells delicious too!
