This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is ‘Each for Equal’, which means collectively each one of us can help create a gender equal world.

Medall Labs invited a few Chennai based Women Bloggers to their Laboratory in Guindy to talk about women’s health. Stay aware – Stay healthy is their motto, and their centralised, well equipped laboratory which conducts 2500-3000 sample tests per day is helping people do that.

Dr. Akila Ravikumar, (M.B.B.S, Dip.in Diabetology, M.phil), Physician at Medall Diagnostics says, “Lifestyle changes have spared none. Today’s working women face equal amount of stress vis-a-vis their male counterparts and are bearing the brunt of many lifestyle disorders. These lifestyle disorders have a significant impact on their reproductive health during the child bearing years, amplifying the need for women to go for preventive healthcare and take steps to address them”

Dr Akila believes that moderation is the key, in all spheres of life. There was so much to learn from her talk.
