This is a story of not so long ago

When I wasn’t so smart, but thought I was so

One day I sat down, with paper and pen

To chart out my future from now to then

I listed out all the things that I wanted to do

Smiled, as I imagined myself doing a few

Charted out my future in great detail

Smugly thinking to myself “Now I can’t fail!”

Prepared I was, for life on paper

Unprepared I was, for life’s capers

Because I honestly didn’t have a clue

That while you’re busy making plans, LIFE happens to you!

All of my plans went for a toss

For I had forgotten who was the real boss

Life happened to me while I wasn’t looking

I never realized what God had for me cooking

So many surprises he had for me in store

Much more than I wanted, and then some more!

So this is my story, Ladies and Gentlemen

This is me now, very different from how I was then

I do my work down here; leave the rest to the Big Man

For haven’t you heard….

“If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans”

Right… Right… Life happens and the plans go into dustbin. But then, if everything happened as planned, life wouldn’t be so adventurous and exciting
Loved to see your poetic side too

Haha. True that. When our plans fail, there is always something better from God when we open up to him. I guess God must be in a fit of laughter seeing all our plans ❤️ Lovely post Mayuri.

That was simply amazing, Mayuri! So loved the way you have strung the words together.
And, you are so right…God sure has plans up His sleeve he never lets us know…HE springs a surprise on us when we are looking elsewhere! Best to just take one day at a time, focus on the work at hand and leave the rest to that Big Guy!

Such a lovely way to say the most important thing that we fail to realise in life, Mayuri. ‘Life happens to us when we aren’t looking.’

Love these wise words which rhyme so well.
God’s plans for us are different from what we plan for ourselves, but they say that HIS plans are the best though we usually do not agree with that 🙂

I have experienced that miracles happen when you are not watching. And it is the best to tell your plans to God and forget. They will happen in their time.

A child asked God if everything is already written in our Destiny then why pray?
God smiled and said may be in few places I have written ‘As You Wish’ 🙂
