Blogging, BlogChatter and my 1st Published Book #BlogchatterEbook

Posted on 7 June 201711 June 2017 by Mayuri Sharrma

I take on the baton of Blogchatter Ebook Carnival from Pratikshya whose Ebook Kolors Of Korea is also a part of the mix.

About Pratikshya’s Ebook:- “Kolors Of Korea is a compilation of blog posts at Magic Moments and some Guest Posts in A PotPourri of Vestiges on Korean sitcoms and drama series. Though the Hallyu or the ‘korean wave’ has gripped people’s imagination internationally, it is popular in India only among the female young folk. Through the reviews of various top rated drama series in this compilation, Pratikshya wants to bring this vivid world of storytelling to audiences here. Based on emotions and sensibilities, she considers most of these stories dwelling on the universal feelings of love, longing, and belonging, as timeless. Venture into this amazing world of tales, folklores, and legends..”

Writing-Sirimiri

Writing typically starts off with thoughts transforming into little scribbles, at the back of diaries, on paper napkins and behind bills. When these scribbles continue, the next step is getting a Blog.

Getting a Blog either leads to more dedicated writing or the initial enthusiasm of writing petering out completely. If the path chosen is the former, dedicated writing soon turns to regular writing and if you want it to, writing that keeps bettering itself.

Writing is a solitary profession, and that is where Blogging Communities come in.

A Blogging Community is like a solid tree trunk, with its members being the branches that grow outward while still being attached to the trunk. A good Blogging Community is unbiased, and spurs its members in the true sense of the word, with blogging challenges, writing exercises and the like.

If a writer has consistently maintained their blog the next thought that comes to mind is that of writing a book. To be a published author is what most bloggers dream of, secretly or otherwise.

How do you maintain a writing consistency? Write at least 3 times a week, if not every day. How do you do that? Though writing challenges. Daily challenges, weekly challenges, themes based challenges and the like, courtesy a Blogging Community holding these.

The annual A to Z Challenge is one such daily writing challenge Bloggers all over the world look forward to. Every April you see Bloggers writing, sharing and reading other bloggers who are part of the challenge. A daily writing challenge helps you write every day, improve your blogging rank and widen your writing horizons. And if nudged right, it boosts you to get a book out of it.

This year A to Z Challenge and BlogChatter came together. A to Z Challenge made us blog every day and BlogChatter had a sweet prize waiting for us at the end of a crazy month of reading and writing, their EBook Carnival.

Blogchatter-Sirimiri

BlogChatter’s rules were simple. We had to register with them post registering for the A to Z Challenge. We had to link up our posts daily. In between the challenge they threw a little challenge themselves, read 10 specific blogs, comment and share, adding to our madness, happily so!

Writers who made it to the finish line were rewarded, BlogChatter offered to compile an Ebook of their posts. Wooohoooo!

So, my topic was ’26 Favourite Foods & A Little Bit Of Me’. Even when I registered with BlogChatter and till we reached the end of the challenge I was on the fence whether I wanted my Ebook, or not. I finally decided I did not, till Dr Amrita, my fellow Blogger pushed to go for it. After some more dithering, I finally agreed to send my matter to BlogChatter.

When it comes to designing creatives I am hopeless. Seeing me struggle, rather seeing the ugly book cover’s I was attempting to design, Deepa asked me if she could help me. So despite managing a summer camp, guests at home and maids playing truant Deepa designed the cover of my book for me.

26 Favorite Foods-Sirimiri

Phew! It was done.

The EBook Carnival was exhilarating, with a specific time allotted to each of us, to introduce our Ebook. The excitement was high and the joy was palpable! On that day BlogChatter made a lot of dreams come true!

My Book is about 26 Favorite Foods and a Little Bit of Me. Unfortunately, most people think it is about recipes. Ummmm, not really even though I have included a few. 26 Favorite Foods is about Foods that mean much and have a memory attached. The Little Of Me could be related, or not related at all to the food mentioned.

Am I happy with my 1st published Book? Yes, I am. What would I have done differently if given the chance? Everything!:) What next? Haven’t thought of it as yet, promise!

Here is My 1st EBook as an author, published courtesy Blogchatter. You could download it for FREE here.

I pass on the Baton of Blogchatter Ebook Carnival to Tina  whose Ebook  Soul Sojourn to  is also a part of the mix.

About Tina’s Ebook: “Soul Sojourn´ is a beautiful creation of poignant ideas and concepts through some serious soul searching. The book is divided into chapters called as ´Pitstops´ where we take a break and ponder over the thought of the day. This book is loosely inspired by the Carpe Diem philosophy! You seize the thought of the day and make it your own interpretation! The soul travelogue is an adventurous journey into the inner self..”.

You are so right the journey was almost similar for all of us I believe. And designing a book involved a lot of google . Your book cover looks very nice. I also completed my ebook with this festival I wish i was a bit more organised though, i rushed through the whole thing as I became aware of it too late. But now thanks to it, i know I need to write more . Do visit the story of my journey too
