A Magical Space Adventure #ColgateMagicalStories

Posted on 10 March 201717 March 2017 by Mayuri Sharrma

Who doesn’t love stories? Whether you’re 6 or 60 we all love reading stories and creating them with our imaginations.

BlogAdda is known for running awesome contests. Some are on the spot, others over weekends while still others are concept based. When I saw this Colgate contest being tweeted about I was a little disappointed to read that it was a Mommy and Kids activity. I shared it with all my Mommy blogger friends and waited to read the stories their kids wonderful imaginations would weave. In the meantime in reply to a tweet BlogAdda asked if I was taking part in the contest? Could I? I asked, eagerly! Of course, they replied and before I knew it a pack of 3 Colgate Toothpastes were couriered to me.

I had to cut out the wrapper which unfolded to show 3 different pictures, which were to be my inspiration for the story I wrote. This is what my imagination cooked up!

Zubi and Zuba rushed home from school. Naani was waiting for the Twins and told them, ‘Zubi and Zuba, we need your help.’

‘Our help, Naani? asked Zubi.

‘How?’ asked Zuba
‘The planets are fighting to rule space and if they continue to do so that could destroy the earth.’
Zubi and Zubas eyes were as big as saucers, ‘Fighting is bad, Naani’ said Zubi
‘Yes it is children, and you know that. Which is why we are sending you to space to make the planets understand.’
‘Space! Wow!’ the twin faces lit up.
‘Would you’ll like to go and help?’ Naani asked.
The brother and sister looked confused, then scared but after some thoughts that passed wordlessly between them they agreed.

The next day at the Space Centre Zubi wore a Green space suit and Zuba wore an Orange one ‘Look, Naani, we are astronauts!’ screamed Zubi!
‘These suits will provide us with oxygen to breathe in outer space. The big astronaut uncle told us’ added Zuba.
‘He also told us what we have to do.’ added his sister
After a lot of hugs and kisses from Nana, Naani, Mummy and Papa, Zubi and Zuba stepped into the rocket and the door was shut. The golden rocket took off at great speed high into the sky, while the Twins stood inside next to each other.

The Rocket stopped outside a round building like thing and the twins came out of it and walked into the space station. After some time Zubi got in a Rover- a space car and Zuba got into another space car with a transparent top and they drove in opposite directions.

The heat of the Sun reached Zuba before he reached the Sun. ‘Hello Mr Sun’ said Zuba politely. The Sun was very angry and did not answer ‘Please do not be angry Mr Sun and please don’t fight.’ added Zuba
‘Go tell that to Mars, who thinks he is better than me!’ said the Sun still angry

Meanwhile Zubi had reached Venus, who rotated in the opposite direction of the other planets ‘Hello, Venus’ said Zubi. Venus grinned widely as she replied, ‘Hello, little girl!’
‘Why are all of you’ll fighting? Fighting is bad, please don’t fight’ said Zubi
‘Tell that to Saturn, not me!’ and Venus rotated away.

Zubi and Zuba were sad, they didn’t know what to do next. They drove towards the space station and reached at the same time. She walked inside and asked her brother, ‘What will we do now, Zuba? Venus didn’t even listen to me’
‘Mr Sun did not listen to me too’ replied her brother sadly.
We will try again, they decided. Once again the twins drove in opposite directions.

Zubi went to Mars, who was big and red, ‘Mr Mars, I am from earth. I have come here to tell you please don’t fight, it is not right.’
Mars looked the little girl with a smile on his face ‘And who told you that, little girl?’
‘My teacher, my naani, my parents.’
‘But Faro told us that we need to fight, to show our might.’
‘Might?’ asked Zubi
‘Yes, might. Which means show how strong we are’
‘Who is Faro?
‘Faro is my friend’ replied Mars
‘Friends don’t make you fight’ said Zubi in a small voice.

‘You, Saturn are the most beautiful planet. You are the only one who has a ring around it. Which is why you are the best!’
Zuba heard these words as his space car neared Saturn. Saturn was smiling. As Zuba neared he saw a small green creature wearing a yellow suit talking to Saturn.
‘Hello Mr Saturn’ greeted Zuba.
‘Hello, young lad!’ replied Saturn cheerfully
‘Who are you? What do you want?’ asked the green creature.
‘I am Zuba. I live on Planet Earth. What is your name? ‘
‘I am Faro. Everyone’s friend. Hello Zuba.’
‘Hello, Faro, if you are everyone’s friend please tell them all to stop fighting’
Faro looked angry at this.
‘We are fighting to prove our might, little boy! Faro thinks I am the most powerful and the most beautiful planet and I must rule!’
‘Yes, you must, dear Saturn!’ added Faro.
‘But friends don’t make you fight!’ exclaimed Zuba
‘You are very beautiful, Mr Saturn, and the mightiest…’
‘So are the other planets!’ said Zuba ‘everyone is beautiful and together you are strong!’
‘I am the strongest!’ roared Saturn
‘Even Mr Sun says he is.’ said Zuba
‘He can say what he wants, but I know I am! Even Faro says so!’

‘Mars told me Faro told him he is the strongest’ said Zubi.
‘Saturn told me Faro told him HE is the strongest’ said Zuba as they met again in their space station. ‘And Mars and Mr Saturn think Faro is their friend.’

‘Mr Sun, has your friend Faro told you you are the strongest?’ asked Zuba
‘Mars, has Faro told you you are the strongest?’ asked Zubi
The mystery was solved, Everybody’s Friend Faro had told them all that they were the strongest and should prove it, so they could rule, and because of this all the planets were fighting with each other.

‘Why did you do that, Faro?’ asked Zuba.
‘Yes, why?’ repeated Zubi.
‘Because I want all the planets to fight and destroy themselves, so me and my friends can rule space!’ Faro said this so loudly that all the planets heard him.
‘You are nobody’s friend, Faro! What you did was wrong!’ shouted Zuba
‘Go away before you cause any more harm,’ said Zubi, as she removed a gun that would shoot bullets which would make Faro sleep for millions of years

Faro saw the gun and ran, towards his UFO that appeared like magic. Just as he stepped inside and was about to close the door, Zubi shot him with the sleepy bullet. Faro fell asleep immediately as the door closed and his UFO took him away.

‘We have saved space dear sister’ said Zuba with a smile on his face
‘And now our Earth is safe too, brother’ smiled Zubi.

As the twins made their way to their spaceship to go back home they heard 4 different voices call out and say ‘Thank you, children.’

That is ever the cutest little story and with a moral too – just the kind I like to tell the kids. Glad you joined in the Colgate Magical Stories Contest. The kids and I had fun doing it too.
