My Word of the Year for 2026

Posted on 1 January 202610 February 2026 by Mayuri Sharrma

What is a “Word of the Year”?

Instead of making a long list of resolutions that fade by February, a Word of the Year is a single word you choose to guide you through the entire year.

One word. One focus. One guide for your entire year. Pick it, live it, let it shape your choices, your energy, your life.

Word_year_2026_sirimiri

As 2025 closes its doors, I step into 2026 carrying a word that hums beneath my skin. A word that doesn’t ask to be seen.

My Word of the Year for 2026 is:

Talisman

Not a charm. Not decoration. Not superstition.

A force. A presence. A quiet energy that holds power, protection, and intention all at once.

And the more I delve into it, the more I realise: 2026 is not the year I look for magic. It is the year I become it.

Why Talisman?.

Talisman chose me as much as I chose it.

Talisman is a word that signals a shift, a quiet, unmistakable, and magnetic one. It changes rooms without trying. It protects without walls. It elevates without announcement. It thrives in mystery, whispering its guidance in moments when you least expect it.

Choosing Talisman is my silent declaration: everything I seek, clarity, joy, intuition, abundance, grace, already exists within me.

Some energies are meant to be felt, not named. Some powers hum beneath the surface, invisible but alive, weaving threads you will one day walk upon. They shape what you cannot yet see, guiding every step before you even know the path exists.

Some truths only reveal themselves when you are ready to meet them without resistance.

And so, I begin.

I love how you chose Talisman as your word — it feels like more than a theme, it’s a guiding presence that speaks to intention, inner strength

I like the feeling of ‘feeling’. I have never tried this ‘word of the year’ but it seems to be a good practice. I would like to work on it, I hope March isn’t too late to begin, because it will take me whole of February to align with a word that defines my whole year.

This was such a refreshing start to the year! I loved how your ‘word of the year’ isn’t just a trend but a thoughtful intention — something that feels more like a compass than a hashtag. Really enjoyed this perspective.

I thought Talisman is like a taveez. Does it appear in Tarot? AS you are in that domain, I am sure it is the perfect word of the year for you. Wishing you all that you wish for and more in the year 2026.

I appreciated how you didn’t just pick a word, but walked us through why it mattered and how it could shape the year ahead. It made me pause and think about my own intentions for this next chapter, which is exactly the kind of reflective nudge I didn’t know I needed. The way the post blended personal insight with gentle encouragement felt relatable and uplifting, and honestly left me inspired to choose my own word with a little more heart and clarity. Overall, it was a lovely, inspiring read that felt like a little gift for starting the year with purpose.
