We humans love control. We schedule our lives down to the minute, making to-do lists for everything (even for “relaxing”) and planning our grocery shopping like it’s a military operation. And yet, despite our best efforts, life enjoys throwing banana peels in our path.
Enter wisdom—the kind that teaches us that sometimes, the best thing to do is absolutely nothing. Surrender. Let the Universe do its thing. It’s a humbling realization but also a hilarious one.
Think about it. Have you ever tried so hard to force something that the Universe just sat back, arms crossed, watching you act like a toddler trying to shove a square peg in a round hole? You strategize, you overthink, you stress, and then—when you finally give up in frustration—the very thing you were chasing lands up in your lap like an Amazon package you forgot you ordered.

Surrendering control isn’t easy. It feels unnatural, like eating pizza with a fork. But the moment you stop micromanaging every aspect of life, magic happens. That job interview you obsessed over? The call comes when you’re binge-watching a show in your pajamas. That relationship you tried to force? The right person walks in when you are minding your business, eating fries.
Wisdom is knowing that control is an illusion. The actual power move is handing over the wheel, sitting back, and enjoying the ride—preferably with snacks.
And let’s be honest, the Universe probably drives better than us anyway. We’re the ones who keep taking the scenic route to life lessons we should have learned years ago. We cling to control like a backseat driver, gripping an imaginary brake, convinced we know best. But the Universe? It’s got GPS, a playlist of perfectly timed lessons, and a sense of humor sharper than ours.
So, the next time life doesn’t go according to plan, take a deep breath, throw your hands up (figuratively, and most definitely not when you are driving), and say, “Alright, Universe. You got this.” Because the best things happen when we finally stop trying to steer and enjoy the ride.
I am participating in the #BlogchatterA2Z, and this is my post on the theme ‘Of Epiphanies & Eyerolls‘.

“I handed over the reins to the Universe, and then double-checked if it knew how to drive” had me giggling—so perfectly captures the struggle of letting go but still peeking over the Universe’s shoulder! A great reminder that surrendering control doesn’t mean switching off your brain.
The art of letting go seems really hard but is essential because yes, the Universe knows better. The satire in your post is just mind blowing!
