Little Raju hid behind the tree in the temple courtyard and watched the old Zamindar strut in with his Grandson every evening. The villagers said that this young boy had come from far away, in a very big electric bird.
Raju felt ashamed as he looked at himself. The grandson was just his age and Raju had never even sat in a chair. After the Zamindar and his Grandson entered the temple, Raju walked a little closer and stared at Grandsons shoes. How must it feel to wear shoes? Would they be soft, or hard?
He wondered every evening, from his place behind the tree, and made up his mind that he would rob them.
That very evening a plan to kidnap the Zamindar’s Grandson was being hatched.
‘How will we know which child to pick?’ asked one.
‘Simple! The only young boy wearing shoes!’, the others guffawed.
