Power packed Paniyaram / Paddu

  • 1 Cup Urad Dal
  • 1 Cup Chana Dal
  • 1 Cup Broken Wheat (Dalia)
  • 2-3 Green Chillies, chopped fine
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • Salt, to taste.
  1. Wash the dals well.
  2. Soak together for 4-5 hours, or overnight.
  3. Discard the water the dals were soaked in.
  4. Grind the dals to a fine paste, along with the chopped chillies, ginger-garlic paste, salt and water, as required.
  5. (The batter needs to be a little thinner than dosa batter, to ensure that the paddu's are cooked through)
  6. Grease each well of your paniyaram pan with a drop or two of oil.
  7. Drop in a spoonful of batter into each well.
  8. Cover and cook on a low flame, till the bottoms start browning.
  9. Flip the paddu's and cook on the other side till done.
  10. Serve hot, with a chutney of your choice.
