Reading and Writing are both my loves. How do you choose one over the other, and in this case one without the other?
I read so that I can write better. I write what others would like to read.
When I go back in time, I realize that I discovered reading and writing together. I fell in love with writing when I wrote my 1st essay in school, during the English period. Reading happened around the same time when The Library Period was included in our school curriculum.
Reading is what has helped, and continues to help, me better my writing. Writing helps me put my thoughts on paper. Thoughts that others read and resonate with.
When I read my imagination soars, letting the author’s thoughts and words take me places. When I write I let my imagination soar, allowing it to go into memory from which it brings back words and thoughts for me to form into sentences.
Reading and writing are my twin joys. Reading gives me the fuel that drives me to write. They go hand in hand and are incomplete without one another.
Can there be one without the other? Not for me, no.
This post is a part of the Blogchatter Blog Hop and was written for the prompt, ‘If you had to choose between reading or writing ‘.

Yes, reading and writing are inseparable twins. It is not about choosing one over the other. It is about having them both.
Glad you agree, Rajeev.
Absolutely.
I totally feel you and have been grappling with this question ever since it was put up as a prompt for this week
Undoubtedly there’s no worthwhile writer who is not a good reader.
I agree with all my heart! Reading and writing are not just twins, but Siamese twins, joined at the hip.
Absolutely. Twin joys as you say is the term for reading and writing.
One who is not a good reader can’t be a good writer.
Yes, for me neither. I wouldn’t know what to do with my life and time without either of them.
I totally agree with you, Mayuri. My thoughts are the same that you read to improve your writing and it becomes a source for your next writing.
