Dalgona Coffee, and more

If you are a regular on Social Media you will know that Dalgona Coffee is trending, rather going viral. Images of this beautifully contrasting, frothy, beaten coffee sitting atop cold milk are tempting those who see it to make their own version of it.

Some stick to the original recipe, while others add their own touch by garnishing it with chocolate chips or shavings. Others add chocolate syrup with still others add a splash of their preferred ‘spirit’ (Hic! Hic!)

Give it your own twist and come up with your personalized recipe. Here is the basic one;

Dalgona_Coffee_Sirimiri

Ingredients:

2 Tea Spoons Instant Coffee (I used Nescafe)

2 Tea Spoons Sugar (I used regular sugar)

A splash of hot water (about 1 Tea Spoon)

Lots of Ice

A glass of your choice

Milk, of your choice.

(I used regular milk, you could use Skim / Full Cream/ Almond / Coconut Milk too)

Method:

Take a medium-sized cup/vessel (I used a regular steel Katori ) and add the instant coffee and sugar to it.

Add the hot water to this and start beating the sugar and coffee together using a spoon.

Take care to beat in the same direction as that will incorporate air and make this mix frothy.

After 10 minutes of continuous beating, the mixture should start thickening and the color should start turning light.

Continue beating the mixture for some more time.

How will you know you are done? The Coffee + Sugar mixture will form soft peaks.

Take a glass. Fill 3/4th 0f it with ice cubes.

Pour Cold Milk over the ice, taking care not to fill the glass till the brim. Leave at least an inch of space on top.

Spoon the coffee froth on this cold milk.

You are done. Garnish it with your choice of topping, or leave it as it is.

Mix well and enjoy your delicious icy cold, Dalgona  Coffee!

We have got so addicted to our Dalgona Coffee that we make it and store it in my DRYNK, sipping on it as we binge watch our favorite OTT Series.

What is DRYNK?

It is my Insulated Water Bottle – a Gulper and Sipper set from Vaya India. DRYNK is designed to fit my flexible lifestyle. It keeps my Smoothies and Detox Water cold for hours, the maximum limit being 18 hours.

DRYNK also keeps my Chamomile Tea and the Hot Water I have after my meals hot, the maximum limit being 12 hours.

I use it to carry Soups to work too!

It is so easy to clean, BPA Free and comes with a 1-year warranty. What I love most is the innovative magnetic lid, that ensures I never hit my nose while taking a sip!

This stainless steel bottle comes with 2 cups, one for my husband and the other one for me. Love how compact and smart it looks, fitting into my car and my gym bag too.

No more harming the environment with disposable plastic bottles!
