Dried Fruits of your choice, finely chopped (I used dried Figs, Cashew Nuts and Pistachios)

I saw a post of this dish shared on Archana’s Kitchen Instagram page. This healthy version of one of my favourite desserts tempted me and I loved the look of it so much that I went to the original post.

The original post by Gauravi Vinay had Peanut Butter and Chia Jam as additions. Since I didn’t have the former at home and being on a 21 Day No Sugar Challenge wouldn’t allow me to add Jam, I improvised with whatever I had at hand. Let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious!

This Faux Banana Split is ready in 5 minutes and will look gorgeous no matter what you might assemble it with.

Suggestions

I have made it with the small Elaichi Bananas too and it makes for a perfect bite sized serving. Elaichi Bananas or Yellaki also has lesser calories than the regular Bananas.

Use whatever fruits you have in season as a topping or use only dried fruit.

You could use chocolate chips, or butterscotch chips if making it for kids.

Garnishing it with crushed Choco Flakes is also an option.

Garnishing it with crushed Chikki (Brittle) would give it that crunch.

Serve it with Mango Ice Cream or any flavour of your choice, if you’re feeling indulgent.

The Original post I was inspired by

Healthy Banana split A banana split can also be enjoyed minus all the icecream, whipped cream , chocolate and all the toppings that are loaded with sugar , bad fats and most importantly guilt. For the clean banana split simply slit the banana and smear it with peanut butter, some chia jam (recipe in highlights) or honey (optional) top it with some nuts , seeds and other crunchies. I love the addition of cacao nibs because it helps me enjoy chocolate in its real form without any sugar and processing . . I have been craving dessert a lot lately, giving into it makes me get into the vicious cycle of a sweet binge. So I decided to make a healthy swap by jazzing up some fruit and staying in control of the situation . @archanaskitchen tagged me just in time , so here is my healthy swap. What’s your healthy swap? #ArchanasHealthySwapChallenge . . #vegan #vegetarian #plantbased #organic #eatclean #cleaneats #cleaneating #healthyeating #healthyliving #healthy #dairyfree #glutenfree #refinedsugarfree #noaddedsugar #fruit #nourish #foodtalkindia #feedfeed #foodstagram #foodpics #foodblogger #breakfast #brekkie #veganfoodshare #superfood #wholefoods #melbourne #melbournefood #banana

Hey! that seems to be something that is easy to make. Involves some labor like cutting the fruits and so on. Plan to try it soon.

Healthy twist to the original! going by the looks of it I am sure even a dozen full of bananas will not be sufficient at my end…

Like the idea of dessert without sugar, this is such a healthy twist in a regular sugar and calorie loaded banana split.
