Selfies have become the order of the day, and everyone with a phone has become an expert at taking them.
Though some people might think of it as a crazy habit I think Selfies are a great idea. Even though I suck at taking them. Maybe Mobiistar phone’s front, dual selfie camera that captures a 120° wide-angle shot could help me take better ones? Mobiistar is coming to India and will be available on Flipkart soon, where I plan to buy it to better my Selfie game. You could buy it too, here
Selfies freeze a moment in time, making a special time a memory forever. A Selfie is a photograph that serves as a reminder of a moment that has passed. Click To TweetYes, I have my favourite selfies too. These are the photographs I cherish and the ones I browse through when I want to go down the memory lane of nostalgia.
One particular photograph stands out head and shoulders above the rest though. I call it a Selfie as it was a photograph clicked of me, by me.
The Selfie I am referring to is that of my 1st Tattoo. The very first time I got inked.
I had wanted a Tattoo for a long time. At the same time, I was also insistent that it shouldn’t be something frivolous and common. After all a Tattoo is permanent, which is why I wanted one that would be meaningful, close to my heart and one that I would never tire of.
After many years of finalising and discarding designs I had my Eureka Moment and zeroed in on the design I wanted, and the next day I had it on my hand, at the side of my wrist in the form of a Tattoo.
I got inked with the letter ‘M’, the initial of my name, wearing a crown. Co-incidentally all the curlicues around it also make it read like a ‘Me’ to some. Works both ways for me, as this design was chosen for a reason. As a reminder that I am the most important person in my life. And thinking so is not selfish, but self-care. Which is why I call this pic of my Tattoo a Self-ie, literally. As that is what it is. A journey towards Self-love.
Has it helped? Oh yes, it has! As whenever I am feeling low I just have to look down at my Tattoo, my reminder, and I begin to feel better again.
Also, getting a Tattoo doesn’t hurt. At all. Trust me, I have two!
Love this tattoo Mayuri and also loved the idea of self-love. 🙂
