I love Tags. A lot. A real lot! so when Shantala tagged me, I couldn’t wait to have it on my blog, and here it is!
Name a cartoon(s) that you love.
Politicians. Especially some pompous heads of state * wink, wink * On a serious note I am in love with the animated film – Moana and the vibrant girl essaying the title role.
What is your favorite song/s right now?
Teri Khair Mangdi by Bilal Saeed. It is such a lovely song from an ironically titled film ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ as most people could hardly bear to see it once.
What could you do for hours (that isn’t reading)?
I could write for hours! And surf the net! If the internet is down I love to clean out cupboards and rearrange everything.
What is something you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?
I love doing all housework, except for Cooking- which I abhor. I also love folding clothes.
What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about (this can do with books, I guess)?
I like reading instructions on labels, any labels. I have no idea why I do it as I promptly forget what I read. Also,at the time of need no instruction has helped. Ever.
What is something unusual you know how to do?
Is sewing unusual? If it is then that is my unusual. Also, I make most Mithai’s at home, from Rasgullas to Milk Cake to Kaju Barfi and more.
Name something you’ve made in the last year (and show us, if you can).
I made a Miracle Hair Oil – courtesy a recipe shared by a dear friend and the results of using it have been truly miraculous! Also, my post went viral, with 6,500+ hits in a single day and about 28 thousand hits, and counting.
What is your most recent personal project?
Well, my most recent personal project was supposed to be ‘ME’ but it’s not going too well I am afraid. I have been pretty negligent and have put myself last. Hoping to get back on track soon though and reverse the damage.
Tell us something you think about often (maybe while staring out of windows).
Story ideas. Thoughts about life, about the past and the future. What to cook for the next meal. Why has the Dhobi not bought my clothes yet. Clever comebacks to bitchy remarks made my others years ago. Also, some gory scenarios, with the sky ripping open and strange things falling down. I think I’ll stop here, before I freak you out. I am a Stephen King fangirl, btw.
Give us something that’s your favorite, but make it something oddly specific, not like your favorite food, but like your favorite food when you’ve been studying for hours and forgot to eat. Or, you know, something like that.
I am not a fan of aerated drinks at all but sometimes I have this pressing urge to drink Coke with lots of ice and a dash of lemon juice. When I get back home after a trip I want Pakodewali Kadhi and Chawal. I love the famous, originated in Mangalore, ice cream Gadbad which is a delightful mess of about 6-8 flavours of ice cream with squares of jelly, more nuts than I have in my family and sauces drizzled over it.
It is fun knowing you through these qirky questions and your equally quirky answers.
And yes, sewing in these days could be considered as unusual 🙂
Thank you, Anupriya:)
Ah! Very interesting stuff. That ice cream gadbad I’ve never heard of. Give me anything chocolate and I’d be sure to gobble it. 🙂 Congratulations on the miracle oil post. And you make all mithais at home. Wow! Suitably impressed. I hate housework. I think you already know that. 🙂 This was fun to read, Mayuri.
Thank you for your lovely comment, Rachna 🙂
Hello from UBC! Lovely to meet you through those quirky questions! I have to say, I am very much the opposite for a lot of your answers. I hate housework especially folding washing lol. Although, I am also a sewer so we have some similarities too.
We have sewing in common!:) Thank you for stopping by, Patricia:)
It’s strange how we get to know such intimate details of people we don’t know through random questions. On a way it’s like baring your soul.
Thanks for sharing hidden sides to you personality . It makes you more real than the virtual you.
That is such a lovely thing to say, Sunita ji. Thank you for reading:)
That’s an interesting one. I also like to read labels and I know how to sew and I used to do a lot a needle work too. Do you make Mithais? wow! Pretty impressive. Never heard to gadbad though 😀
I have seen that Oil post but did not know it went viral. Wow! 28,000 views? Holy buckets!
You must try Gadbad soon, Parul. You are missing out if you don’t! Thanks for reading and high-five on the needle-work 🙂
Saying hello from UBC.
This meme reminds me of the ones I did on my old personal blog.
Hello, Bing! Thanks for stopping by!:)
Interesting replies to the questions! Hope you’re enjoying the UBC, only 29 days to go! LOL
Visiting from UBC 🙂
I laugh at your that you enjoy all housework but cooking – cause that is totally me too. I have no problems doing any of the housework, most of the time I enjoy it, but don’t think I’ll be cooking. Nope.
I also really like Stephen King!
You Like folding clothes… Folding clothes… That should be your alien skill and the miracle hair oil post did turn into a miracle with all the hits that you are getting. Congrats again on that.
‘Folding clothes’ has teared me up. Atlast, I meet my soul sister. I would really love to see your unusual side and eat up all the sweets you mentioned. Its lunch time and I can now only think of sweets. How did I miss this Miracle oil post! I will check it.
Now, those were some interesting answers 🙂
Always a pleasure to know more about the virtual friends that we’ve made. Gives a whole new dimension to the person that we know online mostly.
This post was so you 🙂
I can sew too, so high five! I love housework too and cooking. Weird that I’m a working woman who loves doing these things.
And your miracle hair oil has been working wonderfully for my hair so far 🙂
Politicians????? Lol love that answer!!!! And I hate cooking too. Though I do it, its more a chore rather than a passion.. Interesting answers there..
Loved to you read about you Stephen King fan girl! And hats off to you that you can do “sewing”…specially when I cant even thread the needle these days!
Love you dear for what you are!!!
