I am one of those people who feels incomplete if I know that a dessert is not waiting for me after a meal. A dessert ends a meal like a full stop does a sentence. Period.
I must confess though, that I am quite bored of the conventional desserts and sometimes a piece of chocolate just does not suffice.
That is where Tina’s book, Hello Desserts! comes handy. This book has desserts that are varied, with something for every sweet tooth. There are No Bake Recipes, Frozen Desserts, Baked Desserts and Cakes and Muffins, could it get any better than this?
The cover, with a cheery yellow Mango Cheesecake that beckons you to pick the book and hey it’s a No Bake Cheesecake! Hallelujah!
Sifting through the book you will feast your eyes on pictures that might make you want to step into the kitchen and whip up something immediately!
There are sinful desserts like the Mango Cheesecake I previously mentioned and then there are quick Mug cakes, that are perfect to satisfy midnight cravings or the desire for rustling up a dessert for one. Tina has gone beyond the conventional Mug Cake, that has been doing the rounds on the internet, and has a Chocolate chip variation.
Though it was difficult to pick out a favourite, the desserts that stood out for me were the Black Grape Pudding, the Kiwi Strawberry Mini Trifle and the Deconstructed Lemon Tart.
