Which is the actual meaning of the Death Card.
If there is one card that gets an immediate, and horrific, reaction in a Reading it is the Death Card. The question that almost always follows the coming up of this card is ‘Is someone close to me going to die?’

Infact this card is so disturbing that to be released Decks are considering changing the illustration and renaming it Transformation.
Transformation and Change is what the Death Card is all about really. It is about the death of the old and the birth of the new. About a transition to better times, a journey that may not be very comfortable but required to better your circumstances and life ahead.

  1. I think it would be a shame to have to change the death card. It is the card that most people know, even if they aren't really into tarot. I think, generally speaking, most people who dabble in tarot now understand it's true meaning is not literal death and that it is actually a positive card in most cases.
