Day 1- She fell flat on her rear
The colors and designs fascinated her. She held them lovingly and felt them gingerly.
Heels.
She loved lining them up in the shoe cupboard. She took particular care while wiping each one. A soft cloth to wipe off the dust followed by a soft brush to clean the grime.
The red pair was her special favorite. The stiletto heel stood arrogantly and the bejeweled straps shone haughtily.
She slipped them on her feet and stood up. She felt tall. A few wobbly steps later she fell flat on her rear. Because Shantabai had never worn heels in her entire life.
Spread the love
Oh, poor Shantabai! How she must have longed to walk tall in those heels. The way you brought out that mixture of pain and longing is exquisite!
Shailaja/The Moving Quill
Oh Shantabai! I feel your hurt.
Dont venture in waters with thin heels 😉
I am still LOLing, wonderfully written. Loved the lil surprise at the end 🙂 Looking forward to read more! ~ Simran
