Faces tell tales they say
Is it true or just something that old wives say?
Some have lines etched dark and deep,
Did they laugh a lot or did they weep?
Some eyes are happy, shiny and bright,
While others are like windows, shuttered to keep out the light
Did they see too much you wonder?
Or looked too long for a loved one who wandered
Foreheads that tell of burdens too deep,
Of what they had to give away and what they got to keep
Lips that are sad and donβt smile anymore
For who knows who is a friend and who is a foe?
A nose that once stood strong and proud
Is now hooked and bent and looks to the ground.
Will my face betray all the secrets that my heart once held?
I think Iβll wait and watch for only time will tell.

Very interesting and so well written in verse. Faces, they tell so many tales alright.
Simply awesome.
Lovely. Faces do tell a thousand stories but silently.
Beautiful… Every face does tell a million tales, we must just learn how to read faces π

Wonderfully penned! My face is not my very good friend cause it lets me down all the time, what i feel gets on to my face spontaneously.

That is such an interesting tale of faces! Loved it Mayuri!
Cheers
We all read faces and size up people within minutes after we meet them. Early in life we learn to recognize facial features and expressions as a key to personality types. This is often based on stereotypic patterns and past experience with different types of people. Reality is about patterns that repeat in personal experience, so we can identify behavior.
Like the saying goes….a picture says thousand words…so also a face reveals million words
So many faces, so many emotions captured so well in verse. I think you’re doing full justice to this blog, Mayuri π Keep writing.
Awesome mayuri..very well written π
Wow, this was beautiful!
A face is a veneer that hides a lot of emotions. Only the heart would know the truth.
At try as you might, faces do reveal a lot. Secrets that are kept deep within, It just needs those sharp eyes to understand what’s written on the face
Scintillating stuff Mayuri – loved the expressions in this poem! Kudos
