Sometimes I reek of stale dreams
and shards of splintered vows pierce my hopes
The horizon is tinged with hues of regret
As reminiscences of a promised happiness take me to places I don’t want to go
That’s when I shrug off my cape of despair
As I inhale lungfuls of faith
And hem my blessings with gratitude
And begin to rewrite my fate

This is beautiful imagery. It reminds me of those printout posters we used to get at Archies and Hallmarks Card shops for inspiration.
P.S. Superb ratings on Alexa too. Congrats!

Beautiful string of thoughts transcribed into words.
I took a while to understand. My wife sat beside me and explained it to me. I probably would have left without commenting but after that gyaan from wife, i must say Its a wonderful arrangement of words 🙂 .
I love poetry for saying so much in just a few verses! Sublime and beautiful with a positive note!
Lovely..Isn’t it the same with all of us? We all sometimes go into this mode and then come back to reality. Its really important to be thankful for what we have 🙂
Such beautiful imagery! I shrug off my cape of despair. I think all of us need to do that.
